Put Your Feet Up to Help Catch ZZZZZ’s
It is sometimes hard to fall asleep with your mind
buzzing from all of the activities of the day – and
all that still has to be done. A great way to quiet
your mind and body is to lie on the floor with your
feet up on the seat of a chair or rested up against
a wall with your legs at a 90-degree angle to your
body. Elevating your feet higher than your head improves
your circulation and reduces tension and swelling in
your feet and legs. Calm your system by taking deep
breaths. Inhale as you count to six, allowing your
belly to expand out. On your exhale, pull your navel
back toward your spine and count to ten. Go directly
to bed after having your feet elevated for five to
ten minutes. (Do all of your teeth brushing, etc. before
putting your feet up.) Sweet dreams!
