Grow Your Influence
One of the best ways for you to grow your influence, or sphere, is to meet new people. A key method to reach out to numerous people at the same time is to be a speaker. Through lectures, seminars and talks to civic groups, business organizations, churches and companies, you not only expand your network with lots of great new people, you can also share your expertise and gain credibility. In March, I spoke to the Charlotte, NC, eWomen Network chapter. It was a wonderful group, and I expanded my influence by teaching them how to increase their success through Note-Working™. What is it that you can teach to others?
It’s Not Just a Photograph; It’s an Award-Winning Roa-Graph.
Profits in Progress is proud to have an accomplished professional photographer on our team to create eye-catching note cards. Congratulations to Bill Roa for recently winning the silver for photography at the National Conference for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR). NCMPR represents 550 two-year colleges in the United States and Canada. This year, the award competition was very stiff, with 2010 applications for only 73 awards. His photography was featured on these award-winning entries for Georgia Perimeter College: 1) GOLD – Brochure Series for three recruitment search pieces; 2) SILVER – Foundation Annual Report; 3) SILVER – Photography,
Big River Poster. Bill is a bit shy about sharing this accomplishment, but good work should be recognized and awards shared – not to boast at the expense of others, but to inspire those who need help attaining their goals.
Leverage Your Relationships
What does leverage mean? It means working within your influence to move your business to the next level via relationships. We all have a long list of people to thank for our success, people who have supported us, gone to bat for us, encouraged us. These people have taken the time to build a relationship with us and provide leverage for us. We know each other’s strengths and abilities, and we also leverage our relationships to help them. Sometimes it takes a long time to build this trust, but with this recent article, "Strategically Expand Your Influence,” I’ve outlined tips for building relationships using handwritten note cards.
Build Your Relationships Systematically
Recently, Executive Coach Kimberly Jackson, a client and friend, told me how she uses our Note-Working Success System™. She first breaks down the business cards she receives into four piles and then follows up with them accordingly. It has expanded her business in a strategic and systematic way. It also keeps her focused on her overall goals. Read about Kimberly Jackson’s connection process and see how her custom use of our system can provide you with ideas to impact your bottom line.
Graphically Speaking
We recently designed the Prayer Book Journal for Johnson Ferry Baptist's Global Ministries Conference. It is a tool for the praying members at the church to use throughout the year. All the missionaries and mission projects are assigned to a day of the month and listed in the Prayer Book on a specific day. This way, the users can pray for each missionary throughout the month. Will this help to expand their influence? Well, prayer opens us up to a world not seen, enriches our souls and helps us to make deeper spiritual connections. With all this good, it seems logical that it expands our influence!
Health Tip: Praying Health
The 1996 TIME article called “Faith and Healing” by Claudia Wallis states, “A handful of scientists have attempted to study the possibility that praying works through some supernatural factor. One of the most-cited examples is a 1988 study by cardiologist Randolph Byrd at San Francisco General Hospital.... Remarkably, Byrd found that the un-prayed-for control group was five times as likely to need antibiotics and three times as likely to develop complications as those who were prayed for.” For the complete article, visit here.
Quote of the Month:
"Prayer does not change God, but it changes him who prays."
- Søren Kierkegaard
